Purple heart is a collection of different woods. In pagan religions it's believed to harbor important spiritual qualities. Many believe it enhances creative energy, knowledge, and assists in healing. 
 
Purple heart will change color with age and sun exposure. It will settle into a maroon, chocolate purple, or even black as long as it remains exposed to UV light.
